Vision & Eye Health

In addition to the tips below, protecting your overall health can go a long way towards keeping your eyes healthy! Healthy habits like staying active and eating a nutrient-rich diet can lower your risk for diseases and conditions that cause eye or vision problems.

Get an Exam

Going to the eye doctor is just as important as going to your primary care practitioner or dentist. Eye exams at every age and life stage can help keep your vision as healthy as possible.

Rest Your Eyes

Looking at a computer for too long can tire out your eyes. Rest your eyes with the 20-20-20 rule. Take a break every 20 minutes to look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.

Wear Shades

Protect your eyes from the sun by wearing sunglasses whenever you’re outside, even on cloudy days! When picking out sunglasses, find a pair that blocks 99-100% of both UVA and UVB radiation.

Be Protective

Safety glasses and goggles are designed to protect your eyes during activities like sports or home repairs. You can get them from most eye care providers and some sporting good stores.
