April is Alcohol Awareness Month
The purpose of Alcohol Awareness Month is to increase awareness, understanding, and reduce stigma around alcoholism and alcohol-related issues.
Alcohol in America
Alcohol is the single most used and abused drug in America. According to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), nearly 1 in 13 adults in the United States abuse alcohol or are alcoholics and millions more adults engage in risky drinking patterns that could lead to alcohol problems.
If you have questions about your own drinking behaviors or the behaviors of someone you care about, visit the National Institute’s of Health “Rethinking Drinking” website for information on identifying a problem and tools for making a change.
