Ergonomics at Home

Don’t let working from home become a pain in the neck…or back. Teleworking may come with additional stress and strain from spending long periods of time at a makeshift home workstation. Apply these basic ergonomic principles to help you feel more comfortable and prevent future injuries no matter where you are working.

Neutral Working Position:
  • Shoulders relaxed
  • Back supported
  • Thighs horizontal and knees at 90 degrees
  • Feet flat on the floor or footrest
  • Wrists straight, hands at or below elbow level
  • Monitor at or just below eye level (prop up if necessary)
  • Take movement breaks regularly
